Prabal Pramanik’s Academy of Arts have started Kolkata pages in the website "www.academyartprabal.com". These pages will have articles, interviews, cultural informations and coverages as well as photographs and art sections on Kolkata.
We will present our own analytical observations on this unique metropolis where I was born and spent many years of my life.
I have written books on Kolkata or Calcutta, drawn many pictures of the life in this city, operate the Kolkata branch of the publication division and the sales outlet there from my home in Bhamlada, in Punjab.
I have also held many art exhibitions and other cultural shows in Calcutta or Kolkata.
Internet brings the world closer and creates a new order of social integration. The Kolkata pages actively link a small village in the foothills of the Himalayas where I live, to this mega metropolis.
This is a unique effort and a great cultural experiment that has been made possible through the internet.
